для УСБ флэшек есть программы, которые настраивают контроллер на объем, разрядность и прочие параметры НАНД. интересно поискать подобные программы и для микроSD карточных контроллеров. вдруг есть.
например в моих больших карточках стоят SSS5523 и sm266bf.
